DEI Statement
As a grant writer and communications professional, I view my work as shifting power, especially financial power, to make systems more equitable and accessible. I worked in the affordable housing sector for 5 years, where I served and worked with people and communities who faced multiple interlocking barriers. I participated in DEI training such as: White Women As Nonprofit Gatekeepers; Storytelling Strategies for Dismantling Racism; and From White Supremacy Toward Liberation, all of which have informed how I can use my positional power to create change. I use strength-based narratives to tell my clients’ stories with empathy, upholding and honoring their power and dignity, while discussing systemic injustices, and inviting funders to support social change.
