I came to Ostara in 2020, pursuing what I love best in my work: tackling challenges with passionate people and helping to create smart solutions. In my career I have carved out leadership roles in medium and large nonprofits building fundraising infrastructure and advancing organizational development. I have scoped and completed capital and comprehensive campaigns from $1M - $160M and weathered many familiar challenges including financial shortfalls, leadership transitions, and systems headaches. I believe in data-driven decisions and in empowering teams with a common vision, a strong plan, and shared accountability.
Coming out of the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business in 2000, I set out on a career to elevate nonprofit impact through better business practices and building great teams. The result has been a rewarding journey in seeing the impact of my work when organizations get un-stuck and discover their capacity to make their visions into reality. At the nexus of philanthropy, finance, and programming I am able to translate needs and ideas, form powerful collaborations, tinker up some handy tools and develop transformational funding strategies.
Fun facts about Adam:

- Back when my classmates were competing for internships at financial firms, I spent my college summers as a volunteer wilderness sea kayak guide, leading youth on weeklong expeditions into the inlets of beautiful British Columbia.
- My wife and I take our 3 kids every summer on adventures throughout the San Juans and Canadian Gulf Islands on the same 30-foot sailboat my parents took my brother and me on when we were kids.
